OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2012. Ukraine has completed the construction of the launch pad as part of a joint project with Brazil a space rocket complex "Cyclone-4".

This was started by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov today during a meeting with the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in Brazil Marco Antonio Raup.

"Our cooperation in the space industry in the framework of the" Cyclone-4 "at the Alcantara Launch Center comes in the final stage, so we want to draw your attention to the need for a positive decision on financing the Brazilian side of the facility. For its part, I would like to inform you that almost finalized the launch pad development. And you today can visit the Dnepropetrovsk plant and to see the equipment", - Mykola Azarov said.

He recalled that due to the project "Cyclone-4" the Ukrainian side is developing and manufacturing of ground technological equipment necessary to perform the full range of works from the carrier rocket at the Alcantara Launch Center in preparation for the launch of Ukrainian rocket carrier 'Cyclone-4 ". However, the Brazilian side is building capital facilities and communications facilities on all objects of the ground complex.

The Prime Minister added that the professionals are already in our countries began to discuss the joint development and establishment of the carrier rocket of new generation "Cyclone-5" and co-operation to develop satellites.

In turn, Marco Antonio Raupp noted that the positive experience of cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil in the space industry should be spread to other areas. "Our prospects for the development of space industry are very promising - it is necessary to spread this positive experience to other areas," - he said.

The first launch rocket "Cyclone-4" is scheduled for late 2013.
