IC Allianz Acts as Master Insurer of Unique Flight
OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2012. The Russian small aviation’s first flight on the 9 thousand km long route from Kamchatka via Moscow to St. Petersburg, following the legendary WWII route Alaska — Siberia (AlSib) has been insured by IC Allianz, reported the press-centre of Allianz.
The air route spreading from Alaska to Siberia played an important role in the WWII history — thousands of aircrafts manufactured by the Allied states were transported via the former to the front under the lend-lease agreement, thus bringing the victory closer. Dedicated to the 70-year anniversary of the route’s opening, the current flight has been performed on a small 2-seat American aircraft Cessna-150 flown by the pilots Andrei Ivanov and Oleg Nehoroshev. For a small single-engine plane, this is a very complicated route via entire Russia.
IC Allianz acted as a master insurer of this flight, having concluded the contracts for provision of aircraft hull insurance coverage and coverage of the air carrier’s liability in course of performance of the flight via the abovementioned route.
"In my opinion, this flight is needed for our country and for the developing small general-purpose aviation. I hope that soon private planes will be regularly flying along this route", says Mr. Andrei Ivanov, who had previously worked as an insurance agent of IC Allianz, and who still maintains close relations with the company.
