OREANDA-NEWS. August 2, 2012. MegaFon, universal telecom operator became full participant of LINX, London and opened own communication node. This will allow MegaFon to get stronger positions on data transfer market.

LINX — one of the largest platforms in Europe with more than 400 carriers using its services and it facilitates peak data rate of 635 Gbps. Node in London will enable MegaFon to improve data traffic exchange between MegaFon’s network and networks of lead global carriers via direct interconnection points. This will give MegaFon significantly better opportunities to arrange international virtual data networks and communication channels for corporate sector. New points of presence will also optimize costs for connection with international segment of the Internet.

Prior to this MegaFon has installed its equipment at international Internet traffic exchange points at Stockholm, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and at Russian points in Moscow , Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Samara.
