OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2012. The port was in a successful operation in the heavy test lasted one week. This symbolized the first sea port of WISCO - ZheJiang Zhoushan Wugang Port was trial tested successfully, reported the press-centre of WISCO.

ZheJiang Zhoushan Wugang Port was funded amounted 51%,25% and 24% by WISCO Group, Ningbo Port Group and ZheJiang Herun Group respectively on 8th April, 2008 which is located at Liangtan island , Liuheng town, Putuo district, Zhoushan city. Its designed annual throughput is 30,000,000 ton with iron ore loading and discharging berth at 250,000 ton level and its designed annual loading and discharging capacity is 15,000,000 ton . One 50,000 ton loading berth and two 10,000 ton ship berths of sea to river were built with designed annual loading and discharging throughput at 15,000,000 ton and some relevent ancillary facilities were set up for one working ship berth .

The construction of the port began in June, 2010. The loading port was finished on 16th May, 2011 and the discharging port was finished on 5th July of the same year which was one month earlier than contract period by creating a record of the most fastest construction project comparing with the similar port bulit in China. The no load coupling & commissioning were successfully performed in December, 2011. The port was smoothly inspected and accepted by Zhoushan Project Quality Inspection Bureau, Port & Navigation Co. and relevent Shipping Management Department in March of this year.
