OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2012. Trial production of a new steel wire rod product - LBX72A the wire rod for aluminium claded steel wire developed by WISCO, have been achieved with success in the Long Product Mill of WISCO, reported the press-centre of WISCO.

LBX72A is the tailor-made wire rod at the request of the users, which is specialized for producing aluminium claded steel wire products, such as single steel wire, twisted steel wire, twisted aluminium wire, invar super aluminium alloy conductor, etc.

In March of this year, WISCO reached cooperation intention with Zhongtian Technology Co., LTD to supply the wire rod specialized for aluminium claded steel wire. Zhongtian Technology Co., LTD is a listed company dedicated in products for fiber optic communication and power grids construction. With 18 subsidiaries and fixed assests of nearly RMB 3 billion, this company has an annual consumption of 30,000 tons wire rod in its plants for aluminium claded steel wire products, which accounts for one third of the domestic market.

WISCO quickly responded to such situation by organizing surveys and making plans, and finished the quality documents and contracts in just three months, and the trial prodcution was carried out in July. The Production, Marketing and Research Team made whole course tracking on the process of LBX72A from steel making, casting to rolling. The whole production process was smooth, the control of the parameters was stable, the first-check quality product rate was 100% and the product quality met the techinical specifications of delivery.

The successful production of LBX72A makes it possible to further optimize the wire rod product structure of the Long Product Mill of WISCO, expand the product range of cable steel and improve the overall profitability of wire rod products of WISCO.
