CMC, a leading system engineering and integration company in India and a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), announced that Nita Sarang, VP, business excellence, CMC was awarded the Women at Work Leadership Award for the year 2012 in the third edition of Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards, at an award ceremony held at Singapore.

Nita Sarang is a member of the senior leadership team at CMC and, in her role as the head of business excellence, she facilitates organisation-wide efforts towards future focus, process centricity and customer centricity amongst other areas. Nita has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. A chartered engineer, Nita holds a doctorate in computer science from University of Mumbai, India, a masters in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, USA, and a masters in computer science from the University of Mumbai, India. Nita is also a mentor for CMC’s internal process improvement initiatives covering quality of delivery across all business units. She is a trained Six Sigma black belt and is a member of the policy and process advisory board at CMC, proactively driving policy changes, its implementation through coordinated process improvements towards effectiveness and efficiency of key work processes. She was honoured with the coveted CMC Ratna title, the highest recognition for an individual employee in the company awarded only for sustained exceptional contribution over a long period and commitment to organisation values, in 2011.
