OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2012. As it was informed by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, with most reduction in the January-June 2012 compared to the same period of last year in natural gas consumption showed economic agents - by 17.2% - up to 102.2 million cubic meters.

 Gas consumption has decreased the population by 6.1% and totaled 182.3 million cubic meters, and budget institutions - by 4.5% - to 32.4 million cubic meters. In the I half of 2012 natural gas consumption in Moldova only increased in energy sector enterprises – by 1.4% - up to 259.9 million cubic meters.

The largest share in the structure of gas consumption in January-June 2012 belonged to the energy sector - 45%. The share of residential customers was approximately 32%, of economic agents - 18% ,of budget institutions - 5.6%.

Price of natural gas consumed by Moldova (without Transnistria) in January-June 2012 amounted to some 3.5 billion lei (USD 280 million), 20.9% over the same period last year. This growth is due to increased procurement prices for natural gas.
