POSCO Reports on Smart Work Place Pilot Operation
OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2012. POSCO is newly driving POSPIA 3.0 Smart Work Place (SWP), with pilot operation, striving to become a creative organization responding to rapidly changing management environments in real-time, reported the press-centre of POSCO.
SWP is a system to realize `smart` work by sharing goals through communication, bringing about creative ideas through harmonization, and quick execution through cooperation. The goal of SWP, which strives to be `a place to quickly bring together collective intellect for results output,` is realization of `smart` POSCO not only by changing the system, but also by changing consciousness and the way work is done.
POSCO has been laying the foundation for Smart Work by establishing Smart Office and providing smart phones. Also through Smart Work, the culture of orders/reports/meetings has been improved while smart
leadership has been emphasized to promote results-oriented communication.
The newly operated SWP will serve as a hub for POSCO`s unique efforts for `smart` work to be realized.
Approximately 2,600 employees in 41 departments are participating in the pilot operation which started on July 20th. Participating departments will submit any inconveniences while using the SWP system until the end of August to the POSPIA 3.0 Driving Team. The team will then gather all feedback, deduce improvement points, and re-open a system with improvements reflected at the beginning of October. The re-inspected system will be opened at the beginning of October and will be applied company-wide by the end of the year, and expanded to Family companies in 2013.
