OREANDA-NEWS.  July 31, 2012. During a visit to the UK the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, who on behalf of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych took part in the commemoration of the inauguration of XXX Summer Olympics, held several meetings and conversations with leaders of foreign countries.

The Head of Ukrainian Government exchanged greetings with Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, British Prime Minister David Cameron, U.S. first lady Michelle Obama, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Prime Minister of Ireland Endoy Kenny.

There were talks and discussions on issues of mutual interest, with Prime Minister Vladimir Medvedev, Kazakh President Nazarbayev, President of Azerbaijan Aliyev, President of Lithuania Grybauskaite, Austrian Chancellor Faymann, Czech President Klaus and Prime Minister of Turkey Erdogan, Prime Minister of Belgium di Rupo, Prime Minister of Moldova Filat, Prime Minister of Kirgizstan Babaev, Estonian Prime Minister Ansip, Prime Minister of Romania Pontus.

During the conversation with a member of the State Council of China Dai Bingguo was given to a mutual appreciation of the state and dynamics of bilateral relations. The sides discussed the aspects of the upcoming visit to China, the President of Ukraine, as well as inter-party cooperation with the Party of Regions, Communist Party of China.

In an interview with the President of the Republic of Cyprus Dimitrios Christofias Mykola Azarov had raised the issues of bilateral relations following the recent visit to Ukraine, the head of the Republic of Cyprus, and discussed issues of European integration of Ukraine in the context of the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus in the European Union.

During the conversation with the Prime Minister of Moldova Filat was discussed the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine in this country. With the Prime Minister of Romania, it was agreed to exchange visits of heads of government. Mykola Azarov invited Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann to visit Ukraine with official visit.

Proposals to visit Ukraine on official visits were made to the head of Monaco Prince Albert, Prime Minister of Belgium Elio Di Rupo, the President of Panama Martinelli, Estonian Prime Minister Ansip, Prime Minister of Lebanon's Mikati, Prime Minister of Montenegro Luksic.

Tthe Head of Ukrainian Government also met with members of the International Olympic Committee.

President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge praised the holding of Euro 2012. Mykola Azarov discussed with Jacques Rogge, the prospects of Ukraine for the right to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2022. The IOC president said that the first report of the Commission has been positive and the study of Ukraine's application continues.

During the reception at Buckingham Palace, Mykola Azarov spoke with members of the royal family of Great Britain. In particular, with the Prince Michael of Kent, Prime Minister discussed the possibility of organizing a trip through Ukraine of historic aviation aircraft club in the international project initiated by the Prince. Mykola Azarov discussed with Princess Anne prospects of development in Ukraine Equestrian, the development of cultural, humanitarian and sports exchanges between our two countries.

Also Mykola Azarov held a working lunch with representatives of British business and a member of the British Parliament Jack Straw and he also did extensive interviews with journalists of Times and Financial Times.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and the Ukrainian delegation attended the official opening ceremony of the XXX Olympic Games in London, welcomed the Ukrainian national team at the stadium during the parade of participating teams.
