OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2012. Now construction of the foundation of under-annular corridor  is getting closer to mark -7.50. The completion of the works will be a milestone in arrangement of the reactor's foundation at the first power unit of the  Baltic NPP.

Along with that, the builders of TITAN-2 Holding organizations are completing the following types of work:

• Concreting the walls of security building from mark   - 12.100 to - 9. 200;

• Reinforcing and concreting the foundation of administrative building from mark – 7.200 to – 6. 300;

• Reinforcing and concreting the  floor structure of  the drainage pumping plants;

• Arrangement of waterproofing layer at nuclear service building;

• Vertical and horizontal waterproofing  of security building walls;

• Vertical  waterproofing  of reactor building.

The holding's subsidiary OJSC UAT  is continuing its work related  to arrangement of the  spur railway track "Neman – construction site of Baltic NPP" superstructure and substructure. This track is supposed to be used for delivery of all the construction materials and the station equipment. The total r/w track length will exceed 12 kilometres.

The Baltiyskaya NPP project implies construction of two power units with a  1,150 MW–reactor of WWER type and heating capacity of 250 Gcal each.  The  design-to-life cycle  of Baltiyskaya NPP is 50 years, and that of the key equipment is 60 years. The first power unit is supposed to be commissioned in 2016, and the second one – in 2018. The station location is the north-east of the Kaliningrad region, about 15 km away from the town of Neman. The construction management company for Baltiyskaya NPP  is Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Contractor General is JSC NIAEP.
