OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2012. Under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between между the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) and of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, a SAIC delegation visited FAS Russia to discuss fulfillment of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in the field of combating unfair competition and antimonopoly policy in 2012 – 2013, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

SAIC delegation was informed about Russian system of state control over unfair competition and protection of consumer rights.

The parties discussed the prospects in the pharmaceutical sector, in particular, participation of SAIC representatives in activities of BRICS Working Group for studying competition in pharmaceuticals, formed upon a FAS initiative.

The parties also discussed the issues of regulating advertising activities and exchanged experience in monitoring and collecting information on unfair advertising. China’s delegation discussed its experience on introducing an automated system for monitoring unfair advertising on the central television and on developing such system in the Internet, which caused considerable interest of FAS experts. The parties reached arrangements on exchanging opinion and developing cooperation in this field.

Summing up the meeting, Deputy Head of FAS Pavel Subbotin pointed out that “effective cooperation between the antimonopoly bodies of Russia and China in preventing unfair competition and observing competition and advertising law for 16 years facilitate developing commercial-and-economic relations between our countries”.
