OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2012. Estonian Air became a member of the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) to share actively fuel audit reports and workload at locations worldwide, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

IATA runs a fuel quality pool, which has more than 90 members, and conducts audits on fuel quality for airlines. In addition to the promotion of fuel quality results, the sharing of reports by the pool member airlines has demonstrated significant bottom line savings for the participants. All IFQP activities fully comply with regulatory requirements concerning airlines' provision of quality control and management oversight of airport fuelling services.

IATA supports the IFQP initiative, training and accreditation of inspectors and the annual allocation of stations based on the airports served by airline IFQP members.

“Being a pool member and getting access to a large database of fuel audit reports enables us to cut significantly the number of audits we have to perform every year. This will give a significant cost saving and guarantees the provided fuel service corresponds to the requirements,“ said Jyri Ketola, the Chief Operating Officer at Estonian Air.

“We are delighted to welcome Estonian Air as a member of the IATA Fuel Quality Pool. This demonstrates the value of this initiative, and every airline that joins widens the circle of data and increases the benefits for all,” said Rafael Schvartzman, IATA Regional Vice President for Europe.

Estonian Air is a member of IATA (International Air Transport Association) since 1992.
