OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2012. Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has started manufacturing and selling of new versions of popular offroaders UAZ Patriot and UAZ Pickup. The sales of the new cars will start on the 22nd of May in all official UAZ dealerships.

The main renewals in the restyled versions of UAZ Patriot and UAZ Pickup are related to the interior. Now all cars of Patriot family are equipped with a new up-to-date instrument panel and a new steering wheel. Besides, a more ergonomic arrangement of a new interior design made it possible to place more new functions.

The surface of the new instrument panel made of soft plastic is now more agreeable to the touch. A high level of injury prevention is attained due to design features and trim, exclusion of a grip on a passenger’s side. The level of interior noise was decreased thanks to reduction of the number of parts on the new instrument panel by 30% as compared to the previous one.

Instrument cluster has acquired an up-to-date form, but the instruments (so familiar to UAZ drivers) have remained at the same place. Thanks to a new four-spoke steering wheel of a famous German manufacturer Takata-Petri AG the safety during driving on a highway and in off-road conditions were improved. An up-to-date 2DIN radio with a USB-connector reads information from any medium. Thanks to a hands free talking function it is possible to receive calls and communicate over the telephone without distraction from driving.

A new color set of the interior consisting of two colors deserves a special attention. The main interior color is a black graphite. Beige color is used for such separate elements as supports, ceiling and seats. The seats are implemented in a combined color set of up-to-date materials with a new original design of upholstery in the form of saber insertions.

Restyled cars are equipped with an up-to-date embedded heating and conditioning system of SANDEN company, which is one of the leading German manufacturers of climate systems. A new panel of the climatic unit controls electric actuators of the ventilation and heating system louvers unlike the previous version with mechanical drives (cables).

A modified structure of air conduits makes it possible to faster and more precise control microclimate in the passenger compartment. Single-piece air conduits make it possible to avoid air waste. Besides, now the required temperature condition is attained by mixing of hot and cold air flows. This eliminates temperature inertness.

Moreover, the interior renewal was accompanied by packages types increase as well. The main changes were introduced into the base version of Classic package. A radio, electric, heated mirrors, athermal glasses, power windows on the front door – all these positions are now available in the standard package.
