OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2012. IBS Group, a leading software development and IT services provider in Central and Eastern Europe, announces that IBS Platformix, a subsidiary of IBS IT Services, has developed a new technology platform for Avilon, one of Russia’s largest car dealerships. The platform is designed to facilitate updates for Avilon’s corporate business applications and their seamless interaction within one infrastructure, reported the press-centre of IBS.

Avilon is a leading car dealership in Russia with official Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Ford, Rolls-Royce and Hyundai dealerships as its core assets.

The solution, developed and commissioned for Avilon, is a single virtualised infrastructure comprising a computing platform (12 blade servers) and a data storage system (240 Tb). The infrastructure, pre-commissioned and tested by IBS Platformix, is managed through a market-leader in hypervisor solutions.

To build the new infrastructure for Avilon, IBS IT Services subsidiary evaluated the group’s current and potential needs, drafted specifications for the new platform, and delivered a comprehensive turnkey infrastructure solution. During the project, Avilon was offered a number of options to meet its IT requirements in terms of functionality, technical performance, and cost effectiveness. IBS Platformix team also conducted an assessment of the platform’s scalability and cost of ownership, contributing to heightened project transparency and helping Avilon to make an informed choice.

“The project complements Avilon’s IT strategic aims for automated data exchange between business applications and our shift to a new system for car service management and parts supply,” commented Igor Yankevich, Deputy IT Director at Avilon. “We expect the new infrastructure to boost productivity and support our business in the long term. IBS Platformix’s competencies and skills have made the project both time and cost effective.”
