OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2012. Sberbank of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan signed a Cooperation Agreement. Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank of Russia, and Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, put their signatures in the document. The Agreement defines the areas of cooperation of the parties in the financial and credit sector, reported the press-centre of Sberbank.

The document specifies the cooperation arrangements in the following key areas: implementation of investment projects; development and support of small and medium business; implementation of programs for infrastructure development, housing construction and improvement; development of the system of financial, state and municipal electronic services provided via remote service channels; implementation of programs for the development of youth, sport, educational, social and cultural sectors, and organization of financial servicing of executive and local authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan and state-financed organizations.

In accordance with the Agreement, in 2012-2013 Sberbank will take part in financing such major investment projects as, in particular, modernization of the production equipment of Kazan TTP-3 and Nizhnekamsk TTP-1, construction of the second extension and reconstruction of the first extension of the Kazan international airport. The total financing of the projects under the Agreement exceeds RUB 56 billion.

Commenting on the Agreement signed, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank of Russia, Herman Gref, said: “Tatarstan is a strategically important region for Sberbank. The Republic has a high industrial and economic potential. I’m sure the understandings that we have reached and that are set out in the Agreement will contribute to further development of the region's economy and Sberbank's business in Tatarstan.”
