Fujitsu Positioned as Point of Service "Leader" by Independent Firm
OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2012. Fujitsu has been ranked in the Leaders category of "The Forrester Wave(TM): Point of Service, Q2 2012," recently published by Forrester Research, Inc. The June 2012 report, which evaluated the Fujitsu GlobalSTORE(R) Point of Service (PoS) solution, assists application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals in selecting the right partner for their needs in implementing large-scale point-of-service systems.
The report highlighted specific functional areas of GlobalSTORE software: "Fujitsu delivers the most impressive tender processing, together with superior payment technologies, noteworthy loyalty functionality embracing its CustomerCENTER software, targeting, and offer triggers. It also has strong capabilities in customer self-service and inventory management, multicurrency, and manager mobility."
The report also singled out Fujitsu for strategic vision, commenting, "Fujitsu has a compelling vision: That retailers will increasingly invest in network redundancy rather than PoS redundancy in order to simplify technology deployment and radically increase agility and customer intimacy."
The Forrester Wave(TM) Point of Service (PoS) report evaluated vendors against 70 criteria in three high-level areas:
Current offering. Forrester evaluated the vendors against 47 criteria, including core point-of-sale and return functionality, transaction types, advanced functionality, security, and extended point-of-sale capabilities including mobility, back-office functionality, architecture, and international capabilities.
Strategy. Forrester assessed 12 criteria, including product vision, development road map, commitment, services and support strategy, and pricing structure and development cost.
Market presence. Forrester evaluated 11 criteria, including geographic presence, deployment flexibility, implementation scale, and installed base.
