Volume of Freight Decreased by 4,9% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2012. As it was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, the strongest decline occurred in the area of rail freight services - 18.6% - up to 1 million 723.5 thousand tons.
The largest share of total goods loaded at stations in the January-June 2012, fell on ferrous metals and scrap metal - 24.8% (January-June 2011 - 20.6%), cereals and flour products - 20 , 4% (40.2%), construction materials and cement - 20.1% (13.1%).
The volume of road freight, which accounts for about 55% of the total volume of cargo increased by 10.1% over the same period last year and amounted to 2 million 156.2 thousand tons. Approximately 50.2% of freight carried by road transport companies from Chisinau, 10.3% - Balt, followed by: Orhei area (8.8%), Nisporeni (4.8%), Straseni (4.2%) Anenii Noi (3.7%), Singerei (2.5%), Taraclia (2.3%), Soroca (2%) and Ialoveni (2%). In January-June 2012 the river was transported by 50.7 thousand tons (by 14.2% less than in January-June 2011) Air - 0,8 thousand tons (an increase of 23%).
