OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2012. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Igor Artemyev and Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikivsky had a working meeting with Acting Head of the Altai Republic, Yuri Antaradonov, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The parties discussed various economic issues, in particular, the state of competition in the region as well as the prospects of cooperation between the Government of the Altai Republic and FAS Russia.

Acting Head of the Altai Republic, Yuri Antaradonov, emphasized that developing tourism in the region is one of the priorities in the work of the Government of the Republic. Every year thousands of tourists are attracted to the Altai Republic by a unique geopolitical position of the region, five sites that are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and magnificent local nature. In his turn, the Head of FAS pointed out that the Antimonopoly Service is prepared to assist the authorities of the Republic in developing competition and improving public welfare.

Igor Artemyev also informed that in 2012 FAS Russia was awarded ISO 9001 Certificate of Conformance of the quality management system to international standards, and offered FAS assistance to the authorities of the Altai Republic on the issue if they would find it necessary to undergo such certification.
