OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. The repair of Rostov NPP's power unit No. 2  started on May 12th of the current year. The period of work duration, according to the "Repair Schedule for Power Units of NPPs of Russia in 2012" is 60 days.

Within the frameworks of these works the specialists of the holding's subsidiary carried out the assembly of the limiters of feed water line break and steam pipes, and assembled the fire extinguishing pipelines as well. The value of the contract for the work performance was 900 thousand roubles.

Preventive maintenance of the power units' systems and equipment is an important component of Rosenergoatom concern's production and economic activities aimed to ensure reliable and efficient operation of power units during the  inter-repair period.

Rostov  NNP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, JSC Ths nuclear station is located on the shore of the Tsimlyanskoye water storage basin, 13.5 km away from the city of Volgodonsk. Power unit No.1 put into operation in 2001 operates the VVER-1000-reactor with nominated power 1000 MW. In December  2009, the first criticality of the same type of reactor at power unit  No. 2 took place. Currently power units No. 3 and 4 are under construction.
