OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. PrivatBank and FC "Dnipro" announced the implementation of the first Ukrainian project on launching season tickets to attend soccer matches on the basis of PayPass contactless cards.

As the press service of PrivatBank reported, electronic soccer season tickets for FC "Dnipro" matches are issued on the basis of contactless cards - MasterCard PayPass stickers, and are now available at the box office of "Dnipro-Arena” Stadium (Dnipropetrovsk). For visiting a match an owner of the season ticket should place it in front of a special terminal at the entrance to the stadium. These tickets are almost impossible to falsify (all information is stored in a special chip) or lose - a card-sticker can be easily adhered to a mobile phone, purse, keyring etc.

"Now fans of the club can book their favorite seats in the stadium for the entire championship and avoid buying tickets for each single match – says Andrey Stetsenko, the General Director of FC" Dnipro". - Contactless stickers are the perfect solution, because speed of servicing fans is crucial for soccer arena with many thousands of seats. "

In addition to 15 games of FC "Dnipro", the season ticket allows you to visit the Europe League qualifying match and gives the first priority on purchasing tickets for the matches of Ukrainian Soccer Cup. The owners of contactless tickets receive a number of advantages - a private entrance to the stadium equipped with terminals for instant passing through using PayPass soccer stickers, as well as an ability to perform PayPass-card purchases on the territory of "Dnipro-Arena".

"At the moment, benefits of contactless cards for soccer fans have been already highly appreciated by leading European clubs, many stadiums provide possibility to pay for purchases using just such a card - says Oleg Gorokhovskiy , the PrivatBank Deputy Chairman. - But we decided not to restrict payment functions of the card; fans of FC "Dnipro" will be the first in Ukraine and third in the world holders of non-contact season tickets for football matches."

As reported in PrivatBank, FC "Dnipro" fans can easily use their season tickets to pay in any retail outlets that accept contactless cards. You need to "link" the sticker and your credit card. This can be done in a couple of minutes at any PrivatBank’s office or by a phone call to the bank’s service center.

We should be reminded that in November 2011 PrivatBank was the first in Ukraine to issue and receive payments by MasterCard PayPass contactless cards. Today, more than 3.5 thousands of retail outlets in Ukraine accept payments by PayPass payment stickers. During the first six months of the project the number of transactions by contactless cards reached 22,000 ones totalling over UAH8 million.
