PM of Ukraine Makes Working Trip to Kherson Region
OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is on his working trip to Kherson region.
In particular, the Prime Minister visited the farm "Trud" in Kamyanka village of Kahovka district. Mykola Azarov has got acquainted with the work of modern vegetable store, greenhouse complex with the latest technology of drip irrigation for vegetable production.
Mykola Azarov also visited farm’s areas under crops.
The Prime Minister spoke with manager and employees of the farm. Mykola Azarov asked the conditions and characteristics of their work.
Manager of the farm "Trud" Andriy Petrenko has informed Mykola Azarov that the economy today has 200 hectares of land plots, but due to drip irrigation it has reached a 1.5 crop rotation, which allows collecting a second crop. Vicious cycle allows performing works from seedling to shipping products to the consumer.
As the manager of the economy noted, 70% of products are sold through direct contracts to big Ukrainian processing companies. In addition, the farm has a vegetable storage of 5.5 tons, which allows protecting from seasonal fluctuations in product prices.
According to him, the company permanently employs 40 people and in case of necessity seasonal workers are involved. Currently the farm employs 92 people for seasonal work.
A yield of vegetables on the farm is one of the highest in the Kakhovka district and it is achieved through the high culture of farming. The farm grows nearly the entire range of vegetables.
