OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. As it was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics and the volume of livestock production in January-June 2012 increased slightly - by 0.6%. The share of livestock products made 85% of the total volume of agricultural production in the country for a specified period. The Office does not provide yet data in cost terms.

According to official statistics, in particular, in the I half of 2012 breeding livestock and poultry (live weight) in Moldova increased in comparison with the same period in 2011 by 4.5% - to 67.8 thousand tons due to increased production meat on farms by 8.2% - to 21.1 thousand tons, and in households - by 2.9% - to 46.7 thousand tons increase in rate due to the growth of livestock, as well as the productivity of livestock and poultry.

Production of cow milk in January-June 2012 compared to the same period in 2011 decreased by 0.4% - up to 240.6 thousand tons due to reduced milk production in households by 0.9% - up to 231 , 8 tons, while its production in the agricultural enterprises grew by 16.1% - up to 8.8 tons. Egg production decreased by 14.6% - up to 280.9 million units by reducing their production in the households by 21.2% - up to 164 million units., as well as agricultural enterprises- 3.1% - up to 116.9 million units because of lower productivity as well as number of laying hens.
