According to the III quarter of 2011, the average speed of access to mobile Internet is 1791 Kbps with maximum of 7183 Kbps; average traffic is 142 MB. These figures for all countries of the world account for 1818 Kbps; 8960 Kbps; 536 MB. The best indicators of the rate recorded in the UK (4009 Kbps (average) 19,334 Kbps (max)). The worst average speed - in Thailand - 149 Kbps; worst top speed in South Africa - 1386 Kbps.

By the volume of mobile traffic is leading Indonesia - 4906 MB. In terms of speed of access to mobile Internet Moldova is ahead of neighboring Romania (884 Kbps (average), 4250 Kbps (max)), Russia (995 Kbps and 3990 Kbps); but lags behind neighboring Ukraine (2227 Kbps and 7500 Kbps). The World Bank study carried out together with infoDev, (Information and Communications for Development 2012: Maximizing Mobile) notes that three-quarters of the world's population, or more than 6 billion are using mobile phone (compared to 1 billion in 2000).

Among the points of the global trends is that having two or more contracts with mobile operators is a common practice, in the near future the number of contracts will exceed the population of the planet. In summary, the study emphasizes that the mobile revolution in the world is at the beginning of the growth curve, as Mobile devices are becoming cheaper, the speed of data access and the growing access to mobile technologies increases including in the rural areas.
