OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. OOO Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny US-Russian Joint Venture, a part of the KAMAZ trucks production cycle, launched new machining equipment for pistons and cylinder liners processing and a through-type furnace for piston graphite drying.

The company uses the latest and innovative methods to design and manufacture sleeve assemblies. The company regularly updates these products improving their manufacturability and reliability, renews production facilities, introduces new technical solutions, improves its quality management system.

Purchasers of KAMAZ products highly appreciated the key advantages of sleeve assemblies manufactured by Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny. So, wear resistance of piston ring kits was increased by three times. Oil consumption was reduced due to a better piston ring-to-cylinder liner conformance. Piston rings were fully unified for engines complying with different emission standards – from Euro 1 to Euro 5. Advanced design technologies are applied for their manufacture, which provides high accuracy processing with the help of the new up-to-date equipment. It helped to greatly reduce oil consumption through burning. Now, it is less than 0.1% of the total fuel mass consumed.

All these structural and technological measures enable to bring KAMAZ engines to an international level by its useful life (its overhaul interval is 1 million kilometers).
