Industrial Production Volume of Moldova Decreased by 0.4% in Jan-May
OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. As it was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time, industrial output in May this year in comparison with May of last year rose by 9.5%.
According to the NBS, in general, for the first 5 months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011 production in the mining industry increased by 6.8%, in manufacturing - by 0.4%, and in the energy sector decreased by 4.7%, which resulted in overall decline in industrial production in January-May 2012.
Total for 5 months of 2012 enterprises producing foods and drinks in Moldova increased production volumes compared to the same period last year to 6.5%. In particular, production in processing and preserving of meat and meat products rose by 22.6%, production of vegetable and animal oils and fats - by 22%, wine - 11.6% of dairy products - by 9.4%. Also increased the production of medical, precision and optical instruments - 2.1 times, textile products - by 7.9%, mineral water and soft drinks - by 4%, distilled alcoholic beverages - by 2%, footwear - by 1.4 % of finished metal products (except machinery and equipment) - by 0.8%.
In particular, production of milling products decreased by 47.4%, tobacco products - by 31%, machinery and electrical equipment - by 28.3%, iron and steel industry products - by 16.5%, apparel - by 16.5%, other non-metallic mineral products - by 16.1%, wood processing and manufacturing of wood products - by 11.9%, chemical products - by 10.5%, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery products - by 7.4%.
Manufacture of printing and information material decreased by 5.4%, production and distribution of electricity - by 4.8%, steam and hot water - by 4.5%. Production of bread and fresh pastry decreased by 4.4% of products from rubber and plastic products - by 4.1%. The volume of processing and preserving of fruit and vegetables fell by 2.2%.
