OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. A meeting between Nikolay Tokarev, the President of TRANSNEFT JSC, and Daniel Bruce Poneman, the United States Deputy Secretary of Energy, took place on June 26, 2012 at the Company's place. From the American part, the event was also attended by Michael McFaul (the United States Ambassador in the Russian Federation), Jonathan Mayer Levi (the Senior Advisor of the United States Deputy Secretary of Energy), Catherine Vogler (the Director of the Moscow office of the United States Ministry of Power), Elizabeth Narcissa Emmanuel (a Special Assistant of the Deputy Secretary of Energy).

During the meeting, the parties exchanged their views on the questions of Russian and American mutual energy cooperation. In particular, they expressed a high appraisal to the current condition and to prospects of cooperation between TRANSNEFT JSC and Chevron and Exxon Mobil American corporations in the process of their joint efforts in the project of the Caspian pipeline consortium. Moreover, the visiting dignitaries from the United States showed a great interest to the Company’s plans in oil pipeline infrastructure development, as well as they thoroughly examined the information on realization of the project of ESPO system building.

The participants of the meeting noticed high effectiveness of the mutual cooperation and expressed their assurance in its further consolidation for each party’s benefit.
