Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference Held in China
OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2012. The Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference (APDT) which was held in China for the first time opened in Tianjin, reported the press-centre of CNPC.
The ninth APDT is sponsored by International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), with CNPC as the host organization. Liao Yongyuan, CNPC Vice President and Chairman of the conference delivered a speech.
In the conference, about 500 representatives from 25 countries exchanged views and held discussions on the conference theme of "Catching the unconventional tide: winning the future through innovation”. Focusing on difficulties in unconventional oil & gas exploration and development and the latest scientific and technological achievements, the conference advocated to continuously promote technological innovation and to push forward unconventional oil and gas development.
The conference lasted for three days, during which five keynote speeches were delivered and over 140 papers were submitted. The exhibition was participated by large international companies such as Chevron, GE Oil & Gas, Tenaris and CNPC, showcasing new technologies and achievements for unconventional oil & gas exploration and development. The scientific and technological equipment exhibited by CNPC’s subsidiary engineering technology companies and equipment manufacturers drew great attention from the industry.
