OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2012. This is provided by amendments to the Offences Code passed by the Parliament before their summer parliamentary recess. According to Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Sergei Sainciuc, illegal employment will be fined 100 to 150 conventional units (2-3 thou. leis) for each illegal employee. This fine is imposed on individuals.

Executive officers will be fined 250 to 350 c.u. and legal entities will be imposed fines at a sum of 350 to 500 c.u. for every illegal employee. Earlier Premier Vladimir Filat spoke for amendments to be introduced to fine illegal employees themselves, which would make the campaign against illegal labour more effective.

Besides, amendments were introduced against labour of the minors under conditions dangerous for their life and health and as well as against their illegal employment. This offence will be fined 100 to150 c.u. for individuals, 250 to 400 c.u. for executive officers and 400 to 500 c. u. for legal entities with possible revocation of the business license for 6 to 12 months.

Every year the Labour Inspectorate conducts over 6 thou. inspections and records over 80 thou. cases of violation of the Labour Code and the right for safety and health protection at working places.

In 2011 alone, inspections of 230 economic entities disclosed over 1140 illegal employees , including those having backdoor salaries. In 2009-2011 it was recorded 15 industrial accidents in which illegal workers were injured.
