OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2012. During the first quarter of 2012 compared to same period of last year the number of commissioned housing increased. The program of reduction in cost of mortgages for people in need of better housing conditions designed to encourage further development of the industry, as well as the country's housing modernization.

This was announced by Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Anatoliy Blyznyuk on Thursday, July 12, during a meeting on the coordination of the implementation of social initiatives of the President of Ukraine on providing housing to citizens. The event was attended by the leadership of Rivne, Volyn, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regional state administrations, banks representatives and developers.

"Housing starts to slowly gain momentum. Volume growth of housing in the first quarter of this year compared with the corresponding period of last year amounted to nearly 45 percent. The efforts of all participants in the program reduce the cost of mortgages to solve a range of important tasks, and the basis for addressing these issues is the promotion of the state of mortgage lending for housing construction" - Anatoliy Blyznyuk said.

According to the Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, together with the decision of the housing need for people commissioning of housing projects, including the troubled construction projects suspended due to lack of funding. Also, within the program should begin the reconstruction of the existing housing stock with a mandatory thermomodernization and building of new houses.

According to the Ministry of Regional Development, in the first quarter of 2012 the volume of putting into operation of housing construction grew by 44.8% compared to the first quarter of 2011 and reached a figure of 2.1 million square meters. In the structure involved in the construction funds 69.3% are the funds of population for individual housing construction, 19.4% are the funds of enterprises, institutions and organizations. Another 16.1% - the share of public funds invested in the construction of their own apartments in high-rise buildings. The share of extra-budgetary funds for mortgage and other loans is only 4.5% of the total, and funds of the state and local budgets account for nearly equal shares - 0.4% and 0.5% respectively. In 2010 and 2011, was rut into operation 9.3 and 9.4 million square meters of housing, respectively. The Ministry expects that in 2012 will be put into operation 10 million square meters of housing.
