Gerdau appears in second place in the Ranking of Brazilian Transnational Companies in 2012, published by Fundacao Dom Cabral since 2006, what represents an increase of one position besides 2011. The project seeks to monitor the process of internationalization of Brazilian companies and rank them according to their degree of internationalization, which considers the percentage assets, revenues and employees abroad.

Currently in its 7th edition, the survey considered 63 Brazilian multinationals that are abroad mainly through own facilities or franchises. JBS leads with a 53.8 percent rate of internationalization, followed by Gerdau with 51.6 percent.
