Murmansk Rosmorport Branch Started Project on Reconstruction
OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2012. The Murmansk Branch started implementation of the project on reconstruction of remote lines pier and coastal protecting structures of the Murmansk seaport passenger area. In the framework of this investment project it is planned to lengthen the remote lines pier of the passenger area by 73,9 meters (the length of the new pier will be 205 meters), and also widen it by almost 6 meters, making the width reach 19,6 meters, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.
The dredging works of the project will be aimed at increasing depths at the southern part of the remote lines pier up to 9,8 meters, which will finally enable to receive contemporary cruise liners with the draught up to 7 meters. Besides, it is planned to reconstruct the coastal protecting structures of the passenger area, the length of which is 116,9 meters, and extend the quay.
Implementation of the whole set of planned measures will enable recovery and development of local sea passenger traffic in the region and bordering coastal constituents of the Russian Federation, and also will increase number of port calls by cruise passenger liners boosting tourism development in Murmansk Region.
|The total cost of the project will make more than 750 million roubles. Taking into account that these objects of capital investment are included into the special-purpose federal program “Development of the Transport Sustem of Russia (2010-2015), subprogram “Sea Transport”, the works are financed by federal budget investments.
The works, which will be carried out by a general contractor JSC Mostootryad № 19" selected on a competitive basis, are to be finished in early March 2014.
