OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2012. POSCO ranked 2nd in `Korea`s Most Respected Company Ranking` announced by the Maeil Business Newspaper, reported the press-centre of POSCO.

Out of total 10 survey categories, POSCO was ranked first in 5 categories such as public interest in business and management method, social contribution, labor-management collaboration & shared growth, transparency on governing structure and law-abiding management, winning the most number of first prize.

Given that Korea couldn`t enjoy current success in automotive, shipbuilding, electronics and construction industry if POSCO failed to have global competitiveness in the steel industry, the company?s scores in public interest of business is unbeatable.

In addition, the company`s social contribution activities across the world and volunteer activity where the entire employees voluntarily participate, breaking free from ostentatious and temporary activities, which were highly praised for establishing the status as Korea`s representative company realizing Company Social Responsibility(CSR).

POSCO also received the highest scores in shared growth and governing structure by being selected as an excellent company for shared growth with small and medium-sized companies by Commission for Shared Growth for Large and Small Companies and receiving grand prize in the governing structure category by Korea Corporate Governance Service, along with its unrivalled score in law-abiding management sector.

This evaluation was the results of a survey conducted by the Maeil Business Newspaper among domestic MBA students on a total of 10 categories such as job creation, contribution to the national economic development, public interest in business and management methods, social contribution, taking the initiative in hiring women and the disabled, labor-management cooperation & shared growth, transparency in governing structure, law-abiding management, financial soundness and eco-friendly management.
