OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2012. A large-scale program of flights to Greece, which started early in this summer season, has become popular among passengers and justified expectations of tourist companies.

During the summer season 2012, "Rossiya" has expanded substantially the geography of flights to Greece in cooperation with major tourist operators, and offered St. Petersburg passengers to leave to Saloniki and the Islands of: Crete (towns of Heraklion and Chania), Rodos, Zakinf, Kos, and Corfu by convenient direct flights. Now "Rossiya Airlines” performs flights to resorts of Greece every day.

Conventionally, regular flights are performed to Iraklion, Saloniki, and to the Island of Rodos. Air tickets for those flights can be purchased independently at the web-site or at sales offices of "Rossiya Airlines” or as part of a tourist package from tourist companies of the City.

The second largest town of Greece, Saloniki, will open broad opportunities for those who are looking for a comprehensive relaxation option: here travelers will find excellent beaches, a most interesting cultural program and, of course, perfect shopping resources. Located to the east of it, the Peninsula of Khalkidiki is a most popular resort and historical religious area of Greece. "Rossiya Airlines” performs flights to Saloniki on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays until October 5.

Iraklion as the largest town of Crete offers various pastimes to tourists: beach relaxation, visits to unique historical sites, a high number of entertainments both for children and adults. From the airport of Iraklion, one can reach other, much lonely island resorts such as Hersonissos, Stalida, Malia, etc. Flights to Iraklion are performed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until October 27.

The Greek picturesque Island of Rodos is also accessible to passengers flying from St. Petersburg.
