Vice PM: There Is no Crisis in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2012. Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko urged the opposition not to politicize the situation and not to scare people approaching crisis in the Ukrainian economy.
"Today we have economic growth, stable prices, growth in domestic trade. You shouldn’t exaggerate the problems and scare people crises"- Tigipko said in the Freedom of speech program on ICTV Channel.
However, he said, the domestic economy is largely dependent on the situation on the markets for Ukrainian products - primarily in Europe, where economic growth has slowed. Therefore, Ukraine needs to think through a plan of action in case of strengthening of the economic crisis in Europe.
"We know what to do if there is a problem. First - to stimulate domestic demand, the second - to help the poorest people, the third - maximum support of business, the fourth - to encourage local authorities to attract investors", - vice Prime Minister said.
The official noted that the social initiatives of the President largely supported not wealthy people and became a stimulus for the development of the domestic market. According to Vice Prime Minister, Ukraine needs a comprehensive approach to the case of strengthening the crisis in the global economy. "What we have done, implementing social initiatives of the President - is the right thing in every situation - said Tigipko. - We have increased the employment pensions for 12.9 million people, began to raise pensions of retirement military men, increased payments to disabled veterans, invalids of Chernobyl. Now we should encourage major investments and mortgages. Finally, we should as needed to support business and stimulate the labor market. Recently adopted the law on employment will help in this" - Sergiy Tigipko said.
"If we have need the Government is ready to respond to the crisis, respectively. Now this is no need" - vice Prime Minister summed up.
