IRKUT Co. and Zodiac Aerospace Group Expand Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2012. The first day of the Farnborough-2012 International Air Show Mr. Alexey Fedorov, President of the JSC IRKUT Corporation, and Mr. Olivier Zarrouati, President of Zodiac Aerospace Group, signed a number of agreements and contracts foreseeing expansion of their cooperation for development of MC-21 aircraft family.
Development contracts for Interiors and Primary Power Distribution System were signed.
IRKUT Corporation also signed serial supply agreements with ECE and C&D companies of Zodiac Aerospace Group.
Cooperation with Zodiac Aerospace Group provides MC-21 of IRKUT with the most advanced level of Interiors and airborne systems design.
IRKUT takes the leading position in the Russian aircraft manufacturing and has 15% share of the Russian arms export. The order book of IRKUT as in the beginning of June, 2012 makes about 7 billion USD.
Proceeds of JSC IRKUT Corporation in 2011 exceeded 1, 6 billion U.S. dollars (according to International Financial Reporting Standards). Over the past 10 years revenues of the Corporation grew by more than 3 times. Export of multi-role Su-30MK fighters is the basis of JSC IRKUT Corporation’s proceeds. In 2011 Yak-130 Combat trainers entered the list of exports as well.
Being the prime contractor IRKUT Corporation is working on the realization of main prospective project of Russian civil aviation – the creation of MC-21 short/mid range family of commercial airliners.
Zodiac Aerospace Group is one of the world leaders in providing “turn key” approach for commercial airplanes interiors design and is a key market player in supplying various airborne equipment.
Zodiac Aerospace Group participates in all significant world-wide commercial programs and pays special focus on the most advanced of those.
The biggest project of Zodiac Aerospace Group in Russia is involvement in MC-21 aircraft family development. At the same time the Group plans to expand its presence on the Russian market and it may become supplier to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
