Komienergo Line Sokolovka-Pazhga to Become First Double-Circuit Line
OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2012. Sokolovka-Pazhga 110 kV power line owned by IDGC of the North-West Komienergo branch will become the first in the Republic double-circuit high-voltage transmission line supported by multisided metal poles. Such poles were previously used in the Republic to build one-circuit 110 kV transmission lines Mikun-Yodva and Voyvozh-Pomozdino.
Light weight of the poles facilitates their transportation to installation place and special design allows to considerably reduce the number of poles for the line. Multisided poles are lesser exposed to vibrational deformations and intended for long-term service – about 60 years. The line will be equipped with improved overhead ground-wire cable – in addition to its increased physical properties it contains an optical cable. It will allow not only to protect the transmission line against direct strokes of lightning, but also to transfer data. In total, it was planned to install 120 steel multisided poles and 19 steel lattice towers on the Sokolovka-Pazhga transmission line.
