OREANDA-NEWS.  July 11, 2012. The employment rate of people aged 15-70 years has increased significantly and nearly reached pre-crisis level - 59.2% owing largely to improvements in economic in 2011 if compare to 2008 it was 59.3% and in 2010 - 58.5%.

The level of employment of working-age population grew faster pace (66.5% vs. 65.6% in 2010). This was stated by the First Deputy Minister for Social Policy Vasyl Nadraga at the Economic and Social Council of the UN in New York, representing the national report "Promoting production capacity, employment and decent work to poverty eradication in the context of a comprehensive, sustainable and equitable economic growth at all levels to achieve the Millennium Development Goals."

This document, in particular, is reported that the employment rate of men raised in 2011 to 64.4% (compared with 63.1% in 2010) particularly significant growth has occurred among men aged 25-29 years (from 78, 6% to 81.2%).

The number of unemployed persons (ILO methodology) in 2011 compared to 2010 decreased by 3% and amounted to 1732.7 thousand people. Unemployment rate of population aged 15-70 years was 7.9%, the working age population - 8.6% (in 2010, respectively 8.1% and 8.8%). The share of long-term unemployment (12 months or more) decreased from 23.6% to 19.5%, the average duration of job search - from 7 am to 6 months.

Ukraine has also significantly reduced the extent of partial unemployment: part of the employees transferred to part-time for economic reasons, declined from 13.6% to 8.6% of the employees who were on leave without pay for the period of suspension - with the 3.4% to 1.8%. According to the Government of Ukraine this is an indication of improving the economic situation in the enterprises of different ownership forms.
