OREANDA-NEWS.  July 10, 2012. Students of the Belarusian State University (BSU) who completed training in the IBM course Data Models and Databases received IBM certificates. The ceremony was held in the IBA-BSU joint laboratory in Minsk, Belarus, reported the press-centre of IBA. 

Since 2011, training in Data Models and Databases has been conducted at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science using IBM DB2 Express C and IBM Data Studio 3.1. and within the IBM Academic Initiative. Twenty-one students successfully passed the examinations and received the IBM certificates.

Pavel Mandrik, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science of the Belarusian State University, welcomed the students and handed over the certificates.

IBA has good and long-lasting relations with the Belarusian State University. In 2011, the joint IBA-BSU IT Competence Center was created as a part of IBA-BSU cooperation. The IT Competence Center helps BSU students and teachers to obtain consistent competencies in IT, economy, finance, and accounting. To date, a number of students who successfully completed the IT courses joined the IBA team.
