OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2012. GE Healthcare today announced that University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) has expanded its investment in Centricity* Business, GE’s enterprise-wide revenue cycle management solution that helps healthcare providers achieve greater profitability, efficiency and enhanced quality of care. The expanded investment, which includes adding core capabilities like payer contracting, document scanning, and deep integration with the hospital’s EMR environment, will allow UPI to improve staff productivity and efficiency, manage emerging reimbursement models, and achieve strong interoperability with third party applications. UPI joins a growing number of healthcare organizations using GE Healthcare’s financial solutions to improve revenue cycle performance and efficiency while enhancing patient care.

“After a careful, intensive evaluation of several revenue cycle options, we elected to move forward quickly with Centricity Business including Enterprise Task Manager to drive improved revenue cycle efficiencies across our hospitals and physician practices, its Managed Care Application to support emerging reimbursement models, and its payer contract module to strengthen interoperable capabilities with payers,” said Jane Schumaker, CEO and executive director of UPI. “UPI is energized by its expanded strategic relationship with GE Healthcare and we look forward to building on the strong revenue cycle foundation already in place as we grow in the future.”
