SOCAR President Rovnaq Abdullayev warmly welcomed the guests -representatives of the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia of Germany, Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce and German-Azerbaijani Economic Union. He underlined the large prospects for the extension of cooperation between SOCAR’s Nanotechnologies Research and Development Centre and these organizations. Later, a film about the activity of SOCAR’s Nanotechnologies Research and Development Centre was demonstrated to the participants. Director of the Nanotechnologies Research and Development Centre Eldar Shahbazov and leading experts of the Centre presented a slide show about the four main elements of the “Nano-oil” program carried out by the Centre - research and implementation of nanotechnologies in oil and gas production, drilling, petroleum chemistry and ecology. They pointed out prospective projects elaborated and launched within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Elena Matekina, leading expert on Eastern Europe and CIS, Investment Agency of the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Harald Kramer, head of the Rhine Westphalia’s Nano-cluster Centre, Wolf-Christian Erich, President of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Thomas Richter, Director of the Dortmund Nanotechnologies Centre, Florian Schloderer, Executive Director of German-Azerbaijan Economic Union, talked about the opportunities for cooperation on engineering and sale of nanotechnology systems between SOCAR’s Nanotechnologies Research and Development Centre and EU countries. At the end, the guests thanked Rovnaq Abdullayev for the meeting.
