OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2012. Iceland Express launches direct summer season flights between the capital of Iceland Reykjavik and Vilnius, reported the press-centre of Vilnius Airport.

One weekly flight will be operated on Wednesdays as of 27 June through 29 August. Arrival to Vilnius is scheduled at 5:00 a.m.; departure from Vilnius – at 6:00 a.m. Flight duration to Reykjavik is approximately 4 hours. The Icelandic airline will operate flights by aircraft Airbus A320 with 180 passenger seats. Passengers will be offered approximately 3,600 seats through the season.

“Today, Iceland Express has become the 20th airline operating regular flights from Vilnius Airport. We are pleased to attract new operators, thus giving an opportunity of easier and more convenient travelling to both Lithuanians and foreign guests,” says Tomas Vaisvila, Managing Director of Vilnius Airport.

Iceland Express operates flights in collaboration with Holiday Czech Airlines, a subsidiary of Czech Airlines, recognised as one of the most punctual airlines in Europe. This summer Iceland Express actively expands its route map – its aircrafts will be operating flights to sixteen European cities this season, which makes the largest number of routes in the entire history of the airline.
