PJSC Stroytransgaz Completed Construction of First Section of ESPO-2 P
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2012. PJSC Stroytransgaz completed the construction of 197-km section of the second phase of the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean (ESPO) Oil Pipeline. The works were performed within the deadlines stipulated by the customer, in accordance with the general contract signed in March 2010.
This is the first pipe line section constructed within the frames of the 2046-km ESPO-2 Oil Pipeline project. The second phase of the ESPO is expected to be finished at the end of 2012.
After hydraulic tests and in-line inspection of the section, constructed by PJSC Stroytransgaz, JSC Transneft started packing the trunk pipeline with oil on 2 July 2012.
On 5 July 2012, at 00:30 Amur time (18:30 Moscow time), km 2693,0 – km 2891 section of the ESPO-2 was fully packed with oil from pig trap No. 21 to pig trap No. 23.
The diameter of the pipeline is 1067 mm; the scope of work also includes the construction of 8 block valve stations and a pig trap, electrochemical protection facilities, 10 kW- along the route HVL-6 and 10 kW - feeding HVL from 220 / 35 / 10 Magdagachi Substation up to 10 kW along the route HVL, 2 helicopter landing platforms, telemetry of the linear part and equipment with engineering and technical security devices. The construction of the section was complicated by the necessity to cross Chita-Khabarovsk motor road and Moscow-Vladivostok railroad. In total, there were built 6 crossings over the motor road and the railroad.
For the construction purposes PJSC Stroytransgaz used the pipes of special durability class and of enhanced functional reliability; applied special technologies and materials for automatic welding. 100% radiographic and ultrasonic examination of weld joints was implemented and the advanced methods of soil rehabilitation were used for preservation and restoration of the natural soil layer.
PJSC Stroytransgaz has participated in the construction of major ESPO Oil Pipeline project since 2006. The contribution of Stroytransgaz into the ESPO first phase included seven complicated pipeline sections of total length about 500 km.
