Ukraine to Increase Living Wage Funding for Families
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2012. To implement President of Ukraine social initiatives reflected in the 2012 State Budget as amended, living wage funding will be increased as from July 1 current year to grant state social allowance to needy families for disabled people and pensioners from 80 to 100 percent living wage, and for children, from 50 to 75 percent living wage as appropriate.
With this in mind, that the 2012 State Budget of Ukraine has been amended, total state budget subvention to local budgets has been increased by UAH 638.9 million to cover allowances for young families, needy families, people disabled from childhood and disabled children, and temporary child allowance.
More targeting state allowances for young and needy families remains the Government’s social policy priority.
Besides, starting 3rd quarter this year, social standards will rise too. For instance, living wage for one person will approximately be UAH 1044 as from July 1.
Living wage for children under 6 years old is UAH 917 as from April 1 this year in relation to UAH 832 as of July 1, 2011; for children over 6 and under 18 years old – UAH 1144 in relation to UAH 997 in the 3rd quarter 2011; for persons capable of working – UAH 1102 (UAH 960 for the 3rd quarter 2011); for incapable persons – UAH 844. (UAH 764 for the 3rd quarter 2011).
Birth grants will also rise as from the 3rd quarter 2012 with gradual further increase. Starting July 1, the grant will be:
- for the first child – UAH 27,510 (UAH 24,960 for the 3rd quarter 2011);
- for the second child – UAH 55,020 (UAH 49,920 for the 3rd quarter 2011); and
- for the third child and more – UAH 110.040 (UAH 99,840 for the 3rd quarter 2011).
Throughout the year, maternity allowances are rising, as single mother social allowances are. As from July 1, maximum children allowance is:
- for children under 6 years old – UAH 458.5;
- for children over 6 and under 18 years old – UAH 572;
- for children over 18 and under 23 years old in studied – UAH 551.
Also, allowance is rising in 2012 for children under legal guardianship. Starting July 2012, the one will be UAH 1834 (under six years old) and UAH 2288 (over 6 and under 18 years old).
Within the 3rd quarter 2012, allowance is rising for people disabled from childhood and disabled children, including the increase of the allowance for people disabled from childhood subject to care bonus is:
Group 1 (Subgroup А) – UAH 1477;
Group 1 (Subgroup В) – UAH 1266;
Group 2 to 3 – UAH 844;
As for disabled children, the allowance subject to care bonus will be:
- for children under 6 years old – UAH 1049.3, and for those affected by Chornobyl Disaster – UAH 1344.7;
- for children over 6 and under 18 years old – UAH 1162.8, and for those affected by Chornobyl Disaster respectively– UAH 1458.2.
