WJ Grain Comes Back to Sunflower Oil Market of Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2012. According to Commercial Director Dmitri Gorodenschi, in the mid of September the oil-extracting factory of Benedry will start working. It was bought by WJ Holding as early as in 2002.
The launch has become possible thanks to the recommencement of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, rehabilitation of the railway communication and liberalization of the trade regime between the banks of the Dniester. The plant is capable to process 130 thou t of sunflower a year. 50-60 thou of them are expected to be purchased in Transdniestria and the rest amount will be bought in Moldova and Ukraine.
“WJ Group's entering the market of Moldova creates new opportunities for Moldovan growers of oil-bearing crops” , Dmitri Gorodenschi said. He regretted that in 2012 WJ Grain failed to advance money to growers. But starting form 2013 the company will advance them with money, seeds and fertilizer, “selecting reliable partners”.
The oil-extracting plant of Benderi will employ 250 workers, another 40-50 agents will work wit farmers. According to Dmitri Gorodenschi, the oil produced at the plant will be in full exported to EU through the Black Sea ports.
The cakes will be sold both: in Moldova and abroad. In 2011 WJ Grain sold Floarea Soarelui, the oil-extracting plant, Balti it had owned since 2011 and 5 elevators to TransOil Group. A sum of the bargain is kept in secret.
