OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2012. POSCO will support reemployment of retiring employees to work at small and medium businesses (SMB), along with the POSCO Fellowship Association, reported the press-centre of POSCO.   

This reemployment support is designed to improve synergy effects of its mutual growth with SMBs, by strengthening competitive edge of related SMBs including family companies, clients and suppliers.

To that end, POSCO will investigate the employment demand of client and suppliers, in collaboration with the POSCO Fellowship Association which is a gathering of retiring employees, and provide reemployment opportunities by receiving application from retiring employees.

Especially, POSCO Fellowship Association will offer reemployment-related consulting business through the professional manpower support portal system (http://together.posco.co.kr) which was opened in July 2011. So far, 31 retired employees have been rehired by POSCO-related SMBs through this program and rehired employees have shown high satisfaction with the program.

With this support activity, SMBs faced with difficulties securing professional manpower are expected to enhance competitiveness through hiring professional human resources with accumulated experiences, while providing retiring employees with opportunities to design their second-life as knowledge workers.

The association plans to offer employees to be retired reemployment opportunities by share relevant information continuously through the system and by interacting constantly with SMBs which need professional manpower.

In an effort to promote smooth reemployment support, POSCO has signed related MOUs with the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea International Trade Association in May, June and August 2011, respectively.
