OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2012. PT Pertamina (Persero) increases sales outlet network of Pertamina Dex at fuel stations (SPBUs) to meet increasing consumer demands from year to year, reported the press-centre of Pertamina.

Senior Vice President Fuel Marketing and Distribution of Pertamina, Djoko Prasetyo, said that at the end of 2010, there were only 46 fuel stations serving Pertamina Dex sales. However, as the public demands for the product increases, this year Pertamina successfully expands the sales network to 112 fuel stations, spreading in Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, South Kalimantan, and South Sumatera.

"We are committed to increase our service for Pertamina Dex consumers. One of the ways is by increasing the number of fuel stations serving this product, which is one of Pertamina's leading products. Two fuel stations in Palembang are part of the sales network expansion plan for Pertamina Dex in Sumatera. We will also expand the network to Bali and Kalimantan because of increasing demand," he said during the launching of Pertamina Dex at SPBU 21.302.04 on Jl. A. Yani No. 100, and SPBU 24.301.07 on Jl. Demang Lebar Daun, Kota Palembang today.

Pertamina Dex upholds the 'Less Sulfur, More Durable Power' concept and is the diesel fuel produced by Balongan Refinery. Some of its parameters have met Euro III standard. Pertamina Dex contains Cetane Number 53 and sulfur amount of below 300 part per million (ppm). It is the right choice for maintaining machine performance to be more optimal, fuel saving, and low carbon emission for better health and environment.

When it is first launch, Pertamina Dex contains sulfur of below 500 ppm. Pertamina continues to develop Pertamina Dex so that it manages to produce sulfur under 300 ppm and is the lowest sulfur among other similar products sold in Indonesia right now.

"This is the answer to market demand, where public is more interested in Diesel Common Rail System that require low-sulfur fuel. We also use new-generation additive that maintain the cleanliness of machine," Djoko said.

Besides selling through dispenser pump, Pertamina Dex is also available in jerry can packaging at around 500 fuel stations with Pasti Pas certification. For additional service for customers, Pertamina also provides special lane (red carpet) at SPBU 21.302.04 on Jl. A. Yani Palembang for the users of Pertamax dan Pertamina Dex. The special lane provices ease for the customers because it is queue-free and is served by better-trained operators.

SPBU Mobile Launched in Palembang
At the same time, Pertamina also introduces the first SPBU Mobile in Palembang. SPBU Mobile will serve non-subsidized diesel fuel for vehicles owned by government agencies, BUMD, BUMN, and mining and plantation industries, which are not entitled to subsidized fuel.

As part of the corporate action to support government police in reducing the consumption of subsidized fuel, Pertamina also cooperated with selected agents to operate 65 fuel stations by semester 1 and will increase the number of SPBU Mobile to 200 units by 2012. SPBU Mobile unites will operate across Indonesia.
