OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2012. The Government of Belarus will not revise the GDP growth forecast for 2012, even though the country’s economy showed little signs of growth in the first five months of the year.

Belarus’ Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov made a statement to this effect at a press conference.

According to the official forecast, Belarus’ economy is expected to expand by 5-5.5% in 2012. In the meantime, in January-May 2012 Belarus’ GDP grew 3.1% on the year, while inflation growth totalled 8.5%.
