OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2012. Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko finds vital for Belarus that its GDP growth rate should be at least 5.5% in 2012. Lukashenko made a statement to this effect on Friday as he received chief of Belarus’ central bank Nadezhda Yermakova.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus’ economy is sustainable and has been operating well so far. Therefore, the government needs to focus on major issues and meet the GDP growth target by following the strategy approved by all parties concerned, Lukashenko said.
Belarus’ GDP expanded 3.1% on the year in January-May 2012.
