That’s why McKesson Specialty Health is proud to announce its office in The Woodlands, Texas, located at 10101 Woodloch Forest, was awarded the Energy Star by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to the EPA, buildings that earn its Energy Star use 35 percent less energy and generate 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings across the nation, reported the press-centre of McKesson.

The McKesson Specialty Health office in The Woodlands, Texas is a state-of-the-art facility which includes a fitness center with virtual trainer, an on-site cafe, TelePresence video conferencing and emergency operations capabilities. To support Energy Star standards, The Woodlands building was designed and built in a manner that reduces energy usage. The design principles that make energy conservation possible include such things as installing a white roof to reflect heat, utilizing plumbing fixtures that operate with low water usage and installing light fixtures that provide sufficient light while consuming less energy. The Facility Management Team leverages these design principles to conserve energy, plus they take steps to make sure lighting and air systems schedules are closely monitored and only run during peak occupancies.
