Bad Credits in Banking System of Moldova Made 14.7% as of End of May
OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2012. According to the National Bank of Moldova, it grew 4.5 p.p. as compared with the past May. Bad credits in the total regulatory capital of Moldova made up 65.1% as of the end of Mayl, 2012, 12.6 p.p up since the beginning of the year and 25.8 p.p. up as compared with the past May.
At the same time, non-performing assets made up 87.3% of TRC as of the end of May, 2012, 38.2 p.p. up as compared with May, 2011 and 21.1 p.p. up since the beginning of this year. The calculated allowances for assets and conditional commitments made up 4 bln. 114.4 mln. leis against 3 mln. leis in the beginning of the year and 2 bln. 385.9 mln. leis as of the end of May, 2011.
Total allowances for losses from formed impairments for assets and conditional commitments were 1 bln. 510 mln. leis against 1 bln. 451,2 mln. leis at the beginning of the year. Assets of 5 banks of Moldova with the largest assets made up 71%, 0.7 p.p up as compared with the past May as well as since the beginning of the year.
